My hubby took the kids and got them a horned frog today. They're pretty cool. When it's full grown it can get to be the size of a dinner plate! It's green with brown spots and it's name is Sweethearts! It's not much of a sweetheart though, it bit my son! These kind of frogs are typically just a stomach with a mouth. They will try to eat anything. Does anyone else have any pet frogs? They're so cool, aren't they?

Well we put Sweetheart in his own little fish bowl, and he has to be right next to my son's bed. The kids are so cute wuth it, especially my son! I put him on the dresser this morning, not knowing that he had been next to the bed, and my son couldn't find him and was almost in tears. Then when I told him where it was he stood there and said " No mommy, sweetheart stays next to my bed! He can't be on the dreeser!" Oh, it was so precious!

I do I do!!
I have a little tiny 'aquaphibian'...well that's just what I call him.
His name is kermie...and he is about an inch long. He has just had a birthday too!
See, what makes him so special to me, is that he had a life expectancy of 4-5 months...well that was on January 18, 2000. He is now more than a yr old.
I wuv him!!

He is cool too.
He just lays around all the time...and he spreads his legs all the way out and just hangs there in the middle of the water. He watches TV and follows my finger all over the outside of his tank. He won't do that with anyone else in the house....just me.

You're not going to believe this - we have frogs that live in our basement. The foundation has several cracks in it (there we go again with this lovley place!) and they crawl in from there, we guess anyway. They croak a lot so we know they're in there and sometimes we see them. They're small but they're loud! This is a regular thing - when we lived in this house last time we caught one and put it in an aquarium. That's when we realized we have more than one living here at a time. :) You could fit maybe 4 in the palm of your hand. We also "raise" flies, ladybugs (they bite!), mice and so on. :) Talk about living with animals! We get birds come down the chimney all the time too.

Guess we need a cat!

Well the frogs sound like fun but not the rest! I never knew ladybugs bite, does it hurt, or itch or neither? Maybe it is time for a cat?!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! Ladybugs are a beetle - eeewwww! Their bites sting like the dickens for a minute then it's over. But they STINK too! Nasty smellin' things they are!

We somehow "adopted" a cat, the kids named it George. We'll have to see how George does with the moles and mice before I start to think about the frogs. :) The frogs are actually kind of fun. Little devils, make a LOT of noise. Kids love them!

So we still have frogs, not horned frogs anymore, now I have 5 or 6 whites tree frogs. One of them reallllllllllllllly likes my husbands voice and will sing along when he is talking.
