Argh!!!!! My cable bill is on average $55 a month. Well this month we get a bill for $710.00!!!!!!! Telling us they are turning off our cable and going to take legal action! How on earth do you rak up a cable bill that high!? I could see maybe a phone bill, but cable, we never rent pay per view movies which would add up, and if we did we have 3 free to rent with our service, 3 would be sufficient in a month! At 3.95 a pop we would have to rent close to 165 in a month to rack up that kind of bill and personally I don't even have time to watch the few we rent from the video store each month, let alone 165! My hubby is calling first thing in the morning, but I am fuming!!! {flame}{fire}{flame}

How on earth!?!?!
They don't actually think that is correct to they?

165 movies @ an average of 2 hours a pop is about 330 hours of movies.

We'll give them 31 days to a month at 24 hours a day = 744 hours in a month.

Subtract your 330 hours of 'movie time' = 414 hours...most people work, take off 160 hours and you have 254 hours.

An hour lunch each day and an hour dinner and you have 192 hours left. Now that is an average of 6.19 hours of sleep a night for that month...if you did happen to run up a bill like that, there is no wonder you're upset...you guys need some more sleep! {toothy}

Tried to ease the tension a little! I'm sure they will get it figured out, there is no way it can be that high...

Did you tell them that the air price didn't go up with the gas prices? Gas prices went up! Lets raise the cable prices! Good marketing ploy there funny guy {rolleyes}

Thanks TTP! I got a laugh outta it! I've calmed down a lot since I realize there is no way possible they can imagine trying to scam me with a bill that high. There is no way possible, and I think I'm going to be the one to call now just so I can laugh at them and laugh hard! I'm actually starting to find it quite funny now. Cuz it's just impossible! And what makes it even funnier is usually they send an itemized bill, not this one, it just says flat out the balance and a little note at the top about shutting it off and taking legal action. OOOhhhhh! I wish it were tomorrow!

I must back kezzer here, I have the same company and they mess up my bill every month. I have paid my bill in full so many times and the next month they say I owe double the amount, I understand that they charge a month in advance, but it's outrageous, when I signed on to the new system they have I was told my bill would be $89.00 a month well the bill arrived and they were saying I owed $137.95 a month, well I called them and they told me that I have this service with these channels, well I didn't have that service or channels, so I went back to the old system, which is cheaper and more relayable, after I told them where to put there new system they seem to have finally gotten my bill straight, everytime I call when the cable goes out they always ask me if I want the new system, I say no thank-you I take it back when you can get your billingj systgem straight, there response is thank-you have a nice day. So kezzer when you call just tell them that you have taken all your monthly bills, reciepts and cancelled checks, to your attorney and he can't figure it out either, than tell them that the wants a itemized bill for the last six months and payment statements, trust me you won't believe how fast your bill is fixed, it works.

Well as sonn as hubby gets back from the dr. I'm having him call. I'm mad about it again, knowing that it's not just me this has happened to. Although I'd rather see that $137. than $710!

I heard that some fellow in California received a thousand-dollar power bill. He called the electric company and they apologized for the error and resent him another bill, in the five-digit range again!

Sparkie,

Every time I see your member name I have a little giggle (not a gigglesnort though). It reminds me of a Frasier episode where there was this guy that always called people Sparkie because it made people smile.

What happend? Did you get everything straightend out yet? It's probably just a simple error, but it's enough to freak you out for a bit isn't it? I remember getting rejected for a credit card once and was completely baffled as to why. Called them up and found out there was a bad report on my credit history. Turns out it was a woman with my exact same name, only she lived in a different city. They had different SS#'s for us - but somehow mine accidentally got typed into her "bad" report. (Which took forever to figure out). This woman bought furniture at a store and disappeared... meanwhile, I had to contact the manager of the furniture store, have him verify to the credit reporting agency (in writing) that they had made an error, since the SS# he had on his files was not the same as mine, in order to clear my credit history. *yeah, I was ticked off*. Anyways, hope you didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to clear this up.

My husband is a digital cable technician...and I must tell you that the offices (regional not local) that send out the bills can and do go wrong...so don't get so uptight. It's impossible to have a bill that high if you've paid all your other monthly bills....just make sure you have copies of the checks that came through to pay the previous months and you'll be fine....it will take time for your local office to get it straightened out though...cause they'll have to contact the regional office...so sit back and relax.
