That's the headline of a Washington Times (http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/default-2000914224119.htm) article. Ouch!

I would assume that this is against the law if it actually did happen.

What amazes me is that one of the headlines on ABC News.com (http://abcnews.go.com/) talks about "Debategate", but they don't say anything about "Vetogate."
Nothing on MSNBC (http://www.msnbc.com/).
CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com) is covering it with the headline "Gore denies making fund-raising call to Texas trial lawyer."
CBS News (http://cbsnews.cbs.com/) gives it no mention.
For the past several days, all I have heard about is the "Rats" commercial, but ABC, NBC, and CBS aren't even headlining this? Amazing.

Goodness... I wonder if this is going to mess up Gore's bid for election? No rather hard to navigate the election after this one!

The Drudge Report (http://www.drudgereport.com/mat28ll.htm) says, "Going into last weekend, editors at the TIMES were set to publish two exclusives, according to newsroom sources, one involving a possible link between Gore, a veto vote, and a $100,000 donation from a wealthy Texas lawyer, another exploring First Lady Hillary Clinton possibly rewarding campaign contributors with overnight stays at the White House and Camp David."
They sat on them and were scooped on Wednesday by Time.com, Fox News, and the Washington Times. ROFL.
