Lucky non-Americans. On their tv's, 5 out of every 10 commercials isn't a campaign ad. That wouldn't be so bad if 4 out of the remaining 5 weren't for Viagara. It also wouldn't be so bad if these commercials were, say, funny, or even informing. Or even if they blatantly lied it to us, we could at least tell and it would have hilarous results. Like this:

(voiceover) On September 11 2001, cowardly terrorists attacked America. But they're not finished. Now they want to infiltrate the white house.

(grainy, edited image of Osama bin Laden - voice is that of translator) I support (Candidate X) for President of the United States because of his excellent track record fighting global warming! *evil laugh*

(footage of explosions and terrorist training videos)

(voiceover)Don't let terrorists win this election. Vote Candidate Y this November. (another huge explosion) If you don't, your house could be next!

Now that would be an ad!

Seriously, if you look in my signature I put a website that rates all the presidential ads for their accuracy. I'd strongly recommend taking a peek at it. Or even better - turn off the tv. We all probably ought to do that more anyway. We have the miracle of the internet to lie to us now! :|

Agreed ... "Blech" is right. I'm about sick of the candidates acting like little kids. Why does it have to be a smear-campaign? Can't they just tell people about what they're going to change/make better instead of knocking each other? Pretty immature, if ya ask me ...
Just me 2 cents (which are probably off topic)

I must not watch the right channels, because I haven't seen any campaign ads yet. Maybe they are really there, and we just ff over them with our Tivo. I have heard about all I can stand on the radio, however. It's why I mostly listen to sports talk now.

I suppose I'm getting more here since it's a battleground state. And so far, the majority have been for Kerry, although I bet that will change next month.
