We had a baby boy yesterday (thank you for your wishes).

I wonder if I should be tipping the nurses. There are so many of them involved! About 8 to 10!!

Congrats on your new addition.

And NO you should not tip nurses. The idea to me seems ridiculous really LOL!

I agree with Oncebyten. They make good money. I have known people that have sent the nurses station flowers with a thank you note for the good care. And congrats on the baby!!

Thanks for the replies. They endorse my logic that tips to nurses are unwarranted. I just wanted to confirm that since world or rather people living in it are not always logical.

You don't tip nurses.

We were in the hospital over thanksgiving. My baby was there 12 weeks. We brought thanksgiving dinner up for the maternity ward. It was a way to say thank you for taking such good care of us, but I didn't think of it as a tip.

I am sure the nursers were thankful too. I doubt they get many person-to-person thank you's. They deserve them, especially when they are good at their job and caring.

Just to close the loop, I gave a lot of chocolates to the whole crew and plus a small pack of special chocolates to the nurse who assisted in the actual delivery.

Thanks for your guidance.
