We are in the middle of a big remodel of our house. What is common practice around tips/gifts/gratuities for our general contractor or others working on the house. I would rather not give cash and am not sure what is approiate.
Thanks!

You do not normally tip home builders, general contractors, or sub-contractors for Christmas.

thanks much ... do you normally tip at the completion of a project or is it not necessary at any point

Why do some people feel the need to tip EVERYONE? I know there are many occupations that require tipping, but when they've already shown you a bill for their labor costs, I think tipping is excess and uncalledfor.

You don't need to tip at any point.
