A major terrorists attack in the middle of Israel...

It's pretty close to where Tzachi's parents live (15 min drive) and we're trying to get in touch with everyone and see that they're alright. His brother works nearby as a driving instructor - I hope he was away giving a lesson.

We've had several attacks this week but they were all in the territories (Gaza strip) - did you hear about the one where they shot a bus full of children, knowing that these were children {mad}.

That's the first one inside Israel in some time now and it looks like a serious one too. Either a bomb car or a suicide attack where the terrorist wears the bomb.

I'm telling myself we shouldn't be afraid, because that's what the terrorists want to get - but it's really hard...

Well, maybe this thread belongs in "vent your spleen" :)? I don't see much else to do about the whole thing....

I don't think we in the U.S. appreciate how lucky we are sometimes. To have to live through what you're going through now Anat, seems like it would take a horrendous toll on emotions. Fear is what they want, and in all honesty, I don't see how a natural fear can be avoided. We're thinking of you and yours. Hoping they are safe and sound and you'll be able to talk to them soon.

Blinc's right. We don't appreciate how lucky we are. I hope you and your family stay safe throughout this. Thinking of you. {hugs}

This is just awful.

I sit here whining about our stupid Presidential election, and you have car bombs blowing up and killing people. I hope everything turns out alright for you. Be safe!

Let us know if you get ahold of them Anat, ok?

Apparently, that was a close one. Tzachi's brother was 150 yards from the car bomb when it went off. He was waiting for one of his pupils and she didn't come. He was driving away and by chance decided to go the other way. Had he turned left instead of right 2 minutes before the blast he would have been caught in the middle of it! Scary!

Well, everyone's fine in our family.

Thanks for the concern everyone. I hope you're all having a great Thanksgiving!

I agree - we all have it better here in the US/Canada than we realize sometimes. I try to make a point to remind myself of this, but I don't always remember to.
