3 days ago i noticed one of my dogs smelled. Well i found out it was the fertalizer from our neighbors lawn. I was very annoyed and I gave my darn dog a shower. Fertalizer is my enemy.

We use the organic fertalizers, which basically smell like sheep poop or chicken poop or cow poop. None smell all that hot.

Man that's yucky huh? If there's something yucky to roll in, a dog will find it.

That reminds me of that cartoon where the male dog is telling the female dog that whatever she rolled in sure smelled good.

For some reason when ever our dog comes across any horse poo he rolls in it, and most fields around this area the horses have all pooed in them so it is not good. When we all went on holiday in the caravan our dog found a pile of cow poo and of course rolled in it, yet the field was not a cows field. It is like someone knew he was coming and prepared it....

There was some cartoon where a male dog told a female dog that it smelled like she rolled in some really nice poop. It was probably The Far Side or something.

Someone told me today that dogs more than likely roll in poo because a dogs ancient instinct is to mask his scent, which would then enable the dog to sneak up on their prey without detection....we try and avoid the fields where the horses have pooed in them. . . . . same goes for any fields which cows have pooped in !

Maybe thats why my dog loves to lay on clean laundry. Although I think I've avoided this by rubbing him down with a dryer-sheet. He seems to really love that and then is content to smell himself for awhile. Works out, cause it occupies him for awhile, makes him stay off the laundry and he smells good!

LOL, too funny. My dog is as bad...I guess he figures since poo piles are bigger than he is, he'll just go around smelling like himself... au de shihtzu.
