View Full Version : Decorating for Christmas
When do you start and what do you use (esp. ornaments and any plants)?
I need the info because I'm writing an article about how to keep your cat safe over Christmas (the tree and the decorations can be dangerous). Obviously I don't have a tree myself - practically nobody over here does, as we don't celebrate that holiday, so I could use your experience.
Thanks!
while we're on the subject, I'd appreciate your feedback on these Xmas e-cards that I made today:

Again, I just want to make sure that I didn't make any Christmas mistakes witht the symbols and greetings.
Thanks!

Thanks! I'm glad you like them - please use as many as you like to send to any cat loving friends!
The sweet little Persian kittens including the one with the shopping cart belong to a breeder of Persians who let me use the photos. She took them herself and I also think they're fantastic! If you like them, you should also check out the new pages for the Persian kittens!
BTW, I gather that the Christmas things were fine?

geesh, I almost forgot the decoration thing....
I am decorating all this week....a little here, a little there.
I use 'everything'!! tons of lights all over...real garland...stick eze for the windows...stuffed animals made for xmas...animated statuettes...ceramic sculptures....etc.
For the tree, I have a ton of hand made ornaments....stuff my kids have made me over the years...I always put that stuff on first....candy...light up ornaments...bows....lights...balls...stars...etc.
My favorite ball ornaments are those old glass ones that come in red, green and blue...they make the tree look really festive.
I love Christmas!

Thanksgiving + 1 day = decorating.
I'm always amazed by the people who have their lights up before Thanksgiving. Frankly, I think any day before December 1 is pretty goofy. I would imagine that most Americans do it Thanksgiving weekend because of the long holiday.

This year we will have two trees--one for Amy and me, and one for the 3-year-old to tear up.
We're going to see Santa Clause tomorrow. I'll be taking pictures.
