False Accusations

SKOKIE, Illinois - A 15-year-old girl apologized in court for beating up her 18-year-old boyfriend for not kissing her. The drunken girl gave the young man quite a walloping that left him with two black eyes and to make matters worse, she later told police he tried to rape her. He was cleared of the charges when an examination revealed no evidence of sexual assault. The young man told police he never fought back because he was taught not to hit a woman. The girl confessed to the judge that she needs to learn to control her temper.This kind of thing really annoys me because it casts doubt on true accusations of rape. The same holds true for false accusations of discrimination, sexual harrassment, etc. It can make you doubt all of them.

What it does is belittle the act of rape. So many women have endured awful experiences and years of recovery, and then some jerk doesn't get her way and accuses a man of rape out of spite. If I were a real victim of rape, this kind of thing would outrage me even more.

People don't realize how damaging something like that can be...I saw a court case once, where the couple were trying to get a divorce...the judge wanted some good reasons why this woman wanted to leave her husband...when the woman realized that the judge wasn't going to accept her reasoning, she then told the judge that her husband raped her....it came out in the end of the case, that she was lying the whole time....She had cheated on her husband and wanted out of the marriage. She concocted those stories to get sympathy from the judge.
This could've damaged this guy for the rest of his life!
And imagine if the judge had believed her?!?!?!?
I think they should reserve a place in prison for people who do that. Lock up any girl/woman who falsely accuses any man of such an act.

Count me in on what both of you said. It's not an accusation women should toss around lightly... heaven forbid it really does happen to them in the future. It would really be hard for them to prosecute a real rapist, who may go free and rape another woman, just because of their stupid lies. It makes me so angry.

yeah, and ya know what?
I see this happen with kids' all the time.
Young boys and girls are having sex at such a young age...and a lot of times when the mother of the girl finds out about the child's activities, the girl claims to have been raped by the boy.
I guess this is to take the heat off herself, but they don't realize what this is doing to these young boys....they are going to jail for this crime that has never happened!!!
Their mothers are battling one another over it....etc...and all the while, these girls are sitting by watching, knowing that it is wrong.
I just don't understand ppl.

It's tunnel vision, I swear. So many people just walk around not caring or seeing anything but what they want. They don't see whats around them, or behind them, they're in their own little tunnel and that's all they can see.

I agree with everything you all have said. The act of rape is a very violent horrible thing, and when women, or girls, claim it just to get revenge on a man, it not only hurts the man, but also the woman, as it is like crying wolf. And it is the same when girls falsley accuse their fathers of incest, which happens alot I have heard, it is horrible for the poor father, but it also makes people suspicious, and unbeleiving when someone comes forth and tells the truth about being molested by her father...which is horrible, horrible, horrible, and should be severly punished. But claiming it unjustly, just to get attention, or revenge is almost as horrible...the poor father has no way to defend himself or prove his innocence, and his name is forever shamed in the community...and in that case, I feel so bad for them.....why do people have to take terrrible things like incest or rape, that actually happen to innocent people, and lie about them and turn it into a farce, that not only hurts the innocent, but scars them for life as well??
