Instead of spending the day in the exciting metropolis of Richardson, Texas, I get to spend the day in New York City. Yahooooo! We'll see what they think of a hick from Texas. I'm taking Legend Airlines for a spin. I'll be visiting one of the largest financial firms in the world, and they called me to see if we could partner on some insurance company acquisitions. What a hoot! They are only about 1,000 times larger than we are, and that's not an exageration.

Uh oh, are you guys about to be swallowed up by a conglomeration?
Hope you have fun in New York! I've only been there once, I was pretty young and don't remember a whole lot, but I had a couple of girlfriends that use to go there every year and they always had a blast! Be careful! :)

No, they weren't wanting to buy us. They wanted us to buy companies together.
We flew on this new airline that was just formed in Dallas. They fly to DC, New York, Las Vegas, and I forget where else. They basically have seating that is all first class. It was very nice, and it didn't cost any more than American for that flight.
While we were sitting there in the airport, I read an article in USA Today about how New York's LaGuardia accounts for 25% of all the flight delays and cancellations in the US. They are late everywhere from 20 minutes to 6.5 hours. I turned to my father (business partner) and told him that it didn't look good for us. About 10 minutes later they announce a 30 minute delay. Then we boarded the plane and sat on the runway for another 15 minutes. Then we hovered over LaGuardia for another 45 minutes. Fortunately, the people we were visting did not mind that we were 1.5 hours late.
We finished our meeting early and decided to try to get on the 4:45 flight back home instead of the 7:00 flight. I called Legend, and they said thatthe 7:00 flight was cancelled, and we had already been put on the 4:45 flight. When we got to the airport, the attendant at the check-in counter told us that the flight was delayed until 6:45. I told her that was great, it meant we would be leaving 15 minutes early. She thought that was pretty funny. I gave up on getting upset about airlines being late or cancelled some time ago. They all have the same problems.
Well, that wasn't the end of the story. We didn't even get on the plane till about 7:15, and then we were in a line of 22 planes waiting to take off. Yikes! It turned out that we were only about 20 minutes late compared to our original plans. LOL!
The only thing I didn't like about this airline is that my feet didn't touch the floor completely. I'm about 5'7" tall. I can't imagine how uncomfortable my wife would have been after about 4 hours of her feet dangling.

I've been to New York a couple of times...luckily my father goes on a business trip there once a year. Quite a city. I like visiting but the place scares the **** out of me. I could NEVER live there!
