Ever lose stuff when you move? You SAW it on the truck but when the truck was empty, it was gone? I lost a couch once! I saw it go in the truck and then it's gone! How do you just lose a couch? Is that sock-eating monster growing? Sheesh!

Or, how about finding stuff you thought you lost - like a box full of stero stuff. The surround sound speakers and stuff. "Oh, gee! There it is!"

One more move then I'm done forever! Can't wait!

We just moved in October. What a pain! We only moved to the apt downstairs but we're still missing stuff! How do you lose a couch?! {confused} That's so upsetting, I'm sure.

Eek! I remember moving..I was missing things forever! I finally found something recently! I had been wondering where I put them! I hope that you can find them...they always seem to show up in the weirdest places! LOL!

Ooh, I just saw a show on Dateline or another investigative news program similar to it, (a couple months ago) on this very subject! They put hidden cameras into objects and then had moving companies come in and move their items from a setup household to a new house. It was unbelievable what a couple of the people who worked for these moving companies did! They would stop on the way to the new house, rummage through people's stuff and actually take stuff! They recommend if you use a moving company, that you follow the truck to the new location, so there are no "unscheduled" stops.

Was it a moving company you used? or did you move it yourself? If you moved it yourself, think I'd be getting ahold of the Air Force, cuz evidently you've got a black hole somewhere around you!! {toothy}

In all seriousness, I'm sorry to hear about that... couches aren't cheap items to replace anymore. That stinks!

That was years ago now. My ex did it. He worked for a professional moving company so you'd think he knew what he was doin! We had a U-haul. (Then again, he was drunk most of his life so who knows what happened!) Either way, I was following the truck in the car and somewhere it disapeared. :) I can attest to the thievs in the moving companies. And he worked for an airline baggage handling company too once. They're much worse!

LOL *ROTFLMBO* Hello??!!

Seriously, I lost a couch (momentarily) twice!! LOL When I was in college I had to move from an apartment to a duplex for a week while my new apartment was getting ready. I borrowed a buddy's S10 truck and my then boyfriend/ now hubby helped me. The couch was longer than the bed of the truck, so we didn't have the tailgate up. It was late at night too. I drove up a hill in the road and out went the couch!! LOL Hilarious!! Embarrassing too, but funny none the less! {toothy} Then we got to the duplex, where a friend was letting me stay and keep my stuff for the week before my apartment was ready, and I went to the wrong one!! Remember this is late at night, like midnight or 1:00am. (I had to move after I got off of work.) I was trying and trying to make the key work. Oops!! {blush}

Then we decided to drive around back, through the yard, to take the couch in through the double doors in the kitchen. S drove this time. You guessed it! The yard was on a slope too, so out the couch goes again! {dizzy} LOL Ah, memories!
